Mary Stuart Masterson


Mary Stuart Masterson is an American actress and director. She has starred in the films At Close Range , Some Kind of Wonderful , Chances Are , Fried Green Tomatoes and Benny amp Joon . She won the National Board of Review Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 1989 film Immediate Family, and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for the 2003 Broadway revival of Nine.

Masterson was born in Manhattan to writerdirector Peter Masterson and actress Carlin Glynn. She has two siblings Peter, Jr., and Alexandra. As a teen, she attended Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center in upstate New York with actors Robert Downey, Jr. and Jon Cryer. Later, she attended schools in New York, including eight months studying anthropology at New York University.
